Welcome to tryouts Huskies! I look forward to seeing everyone at the rink and thanks for your interest in wanting to play rep-level hockey. My name is Ian Rutherford and I am excited to coach the U14A Huskies for the 2024-25 Season.
Below you will find information related to the tryout process and what to expect for this upcoming season.
Tryout Schedule
- May 6: TRYOUT - 7:00pm to 8:00pm - Optimist
- May 8: GAME @ Hespeler - 8:00pm - Hespeler Arena
- May 10: GAME @ Woolwich - 8:30pm - Snyder Arena
- May 11: GAME vs. Woolwich - 4:50pm - Optimist
- May 12: GAME vs. Hespeler - 8:30am - Optimist
*REMINDER: All U14A players are required to attend the Body Checking clinic hosted by New Hamburg Hockey, unless your player has attended another clinic prior. Please note the updated time for this clinic:
- May 4: 1:30pm to 3:30pm - Optimist
Evaluation
Selection for the roster will be supported by a group of Independent Evaluators. We will be looking to select and ice the best possible team, however, ultimately we're focused on bringing together those players who demonstrate hard work, are coachable and contribute to a positive team atmosphere.
Releases
The first set of releases will be made following the game versus Hespeler on May 8. Releases will be posted and communicated through this Team Page and posted no later than 11pm.
The Tryout Player List will also list (by tryout number) those players continuing in the process. If a player’s tryout number is NOT listed, they have been released and are encouraged to attend the U15C tryouts.
Feedback will be provided (for those released), but I would ask that players kindly wait for the process to complete before reaching out.
More information regarding the upcoming season will be provided at the first tryout and I look forward to seeing everyon at the rink on May 6.
